Princess Superstar returns with new single and radio show
Fabulous at 50! Rapper Bad Babysitter Princess Superstar is back with her own radio show and hilarious new song Gettin’ Older
She is best known to music fans for her hits, including the 2002 hit Bad Babysitter and the dancefloor staple Perfect (Exceeder) which has over 20 million streams on Spotify.
Now Princess Superstar – real name Concetta Kirschner – is back with her own radio show and a hilarious new single that tackles 50 years, aptly titled Gettin’ Older.
On her new track, the DJ and performer defiantly declares “I’m getting older, but I’m never going to stop” as she raps about saying no to Botox, being a “cougar” and calling herself like Mrs. Robinson.
Showing no signs of taming its love of the occasional lewd lyrics, the song could easily have Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion taking notes for inspiration.

But despite some of the risky versus, the rapper told DailyMail.com, “My song is really about celebrating aging…I don’t really hear that in pop songs these days!”
Of Cardi and Megan topping the charts with their hit WAP, she says, “I think it’s awesome.” It’s amazing to see female rappers on top!’
“I think of how far we’ve come since Queen Latifah and those pioneering women who came before us. Once upon a time there weren’t many female rappers and we certainly weren’t dominating the charts. The only thing I would say is that I wish there were more diverse topics in the songs.
Impressively, Princess Superstar – who has spent her entire career as an independent artist without the help of a major label – has seen her music featured on iconic shows like Sex and the City and Orange is the New Black, as well as films Get Him to the Greek and Hall Pass.
In fact, in the late ’90s, the rapper bravely launched her own label, first calling it “A Big Rich Major Label” before settling on “Corrupt Conglomerate.”
Legend has it that she was courted by a major record company who wanted to change her name to “Cream”, but she decided against it to stay true to her own style.

It all finally paid off when his song Bad Babysitter reached number 11 on the UK Singles Chart and number 2 on the independent charts in 2002.
In 2007, Perfect (Exceeder) with Dutch musician Mason, reached number 3 in the UK, became a European hit and has been used in countless adverts since.
Meanwhile, fans can now catch the star on her own radio show on Dash, every Thursday at 7pm PST, which featured guests including Margaret Cho.
“My show is a mix of mostly early 2000s music and lots of stories, as well as current affairs pontifications,” she explains.
“It’s called The Magical Adventures of Princess Superstar because a lot of times I’ll play a song and then tell you about my involvement or something crazy that happened, like when Jarvis Cocker first took me to play in London at Pentonville prison.
“Or the time Arthur Baker fell asleep while I was recording vocals.”
