Ray Davis — Music News — GRIND Magazine
Born in Oklahoma and raised in East Atlanta, Ray Davis brings listeners a fresh take on R&B hip-hop. He grew up in a musical family watching his father train as a blues musician, which ultimately led to his love for music. Ray takes his music and his writing seriously by investing himself professionally for a little over ten years. One of his hit singles, “Lit Asf”, has captured worldwide attention, while most recently securing regular airplay in Oklahoma on Power103.5. On top of that, on March 8, 2022, Ray released another hit single thanks to a major distribution deal through SS Global Entertainment which landed full rotation on several syndicated shows such as “Steve Harvey In The Morning”, ” The Breakfast Club”. , and “On Air with Ryan Seacrest”.
Now, surprisingly, this isn’t the first time Ray has gotten major recognition. At 23, he signed with London-based label BNDR Music (now STREAM LIVE), and released two singles with official videos. The single titled “I Like” secured a spot for Ray to open for Juice Wrld in Las Vegas just before his passing.
With all the big hits on Ray’s path, initially his main goal was to get signed to a major label, however, lately he’s been proud to ride the independent wave. While it’s not out of the question to partner with another label down the road, he aims to prove to himself that he can do it on his own and that his plans for the future look promising. His work ethic alone sets the stage for success.
